Why do you enjoy Front-End Development?

I enjoy front-end development because it allows me to bring creative visions to life on the web.

Crafting visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces gives me a sense of accomplishment.

The constant evolution of technologies in the front-end space keeps me engaged and encourages continuous learning.

Interacting with users through the design and functionality of a website provides a tangible impact, and overcoming challenges in the user experience fosters a sense of problem-solving satisfaction.

Overall, the dynamic nature of front-end development allows me to combine my technical skills with a passion for creating seamless and enjoyable online experiences.

What makes you a good Front-end Developer?

Eye for detail and pride in precision. Enjoy developing pixel perfect sites to designs. This has become a habit from good tutoring while at Rejuvenate. As well as enjoying the technical side of page speed optimisation and technical SEO.

Your most challenging project?

My most challenging project was developing the Motive app during my final year at university.

I had never done app development before and it was outside my usual discipline, but I wanted to challenge myself and explore something new, as I was really interested in mobile apps at the time.

It was during lockdown, so support from tutors and peers was limited, which made it even more demanding.

I had to engage in independent learning, taking online courses and teaching myself the necessary skills to plan, design, and build a functional app.

This experience strengthened my problem-solving, organisation, and analytical skills, and gave me confidence in tackling entirely new technical challenges while managing the project end-to-end.

What do you do outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy staying active and keeping fit.

I regularly go running and the gym, which helps me clear my mind and stay disciplined.

I’m also passionate about sports in general, whether it’s following games or playing casually.

Staying active gives me energy, focus, and a healthy balance alongside my professional life.

What are you currently learning?

I’m currently learning React to expand my front-end development skills and stay up-to-date with modern web technologies.

Keeping up with evolving frameworks and best practices is important to me, so I regularly take online courses and experiment with new tools and libraries.
